You-Houghs are light fighter crafts used by the GEATHJERK Federation Supreme Armada. Like their Dough-Goo pilots, You-Houghs are weak on their own, but their high maneuverability allows them to stay out of reach and attack from all angles using their machine guns.
First encountered in Operation 001-B when Wonder-Green joins the team, You-Houghs are one of the only flying enemy types in the game.
GEATHJERK File[]
A light fighter craft designed to accommodate a Dough-Goo foot soldier.
Primarily used to escort Dough-Goo platoons and provide close-range air support. While their small-caliber laser machine guns are fairly ineffectual on their own, their superb maneuverability allows them to confuse enemies with aerial tricks and attacks, and they also sport externally mounted magnetic blades for last-ditch kamikaze attacks. All around, a unique and versatile battle unit.
Description[]
You-Houghs are small, open cockpit flying saucers with a machine gun mounted in front of their seat. You-Houghs are normally piloted by a Dough-Goo, and the vehicle by itself is often referred to in-game as a UFO.
Like most GEATHJERK forces, the colored details on a You-Hough (as well as its Dough-Goo pilot) indicates its health: changing from blue, to green, to orange, and finally to red as it's damaged until it's destroyed.
You-Houghs come in two variations: A basic silver UFO version, and a red UFO version with a spike behind its seat. Both variations have minor differences in their abilities, however, the most notable difference is that red You-Houghs leave their UFO behind when killed, allowing it to be used by a Wonderful One.
Gameplay[]
Overview[]

Climb Attacks to Stun | 2 Members |
Attack Size to Launch | Any |
Wonder-Liner Throw | 3 Members |
Unite Whip Size to Grab | Any |
Item Catcher Drop | Space Eggplant* |
Just like Dough-Goos, You-Houghs are extremely weak enemies that shouldn't pose much of a challenge on their own, however, their Machine Gun attack is surprisingly difficult to see and avoid (especially on small displays like a Nintendo Switch screen,) meaning they can easily land a hit on you if you don't kill them before they start attacking. This is especially common when fighting You-Houghs alongside other enemies that make it difficult to deal with them first.
You-Houghs have very little health and no real defenses, meaning they can be killed in one or two hits from any Unite Morph, however, their ability to fly makes it difficult to reach them using most attacks. You-Houghs spend most of their time constantly using their Machine Gun attack, but they can also use a melee charge attack.
After being stunned, You-Houghs are one of the only enemies besides Dough-Goos that can be picked up using Unite Gun's Pistol form.
Variations[]
As previously mentioned, there are two variations of You-Houghs: "silver You-Houghs" and "red You-Houghs." Both variations can be fought in the same ways, the only difference is that a silver You-Hough's charge attack can be blocked using Unite Guts, whereas a red You-Hough's blade charge attack cannot.
Additionally, in most situations, red You-Houghs leave behind their UFOs on death.
Attacks[]
Machine Gun | ||
---|---|---|
A You-Hough aims at the ground and starts firing its machine gun. It may reposition and start firing again from a new angle multiple times until it stops attacking. This attack is difficult to see, but it's used constantly, meaning you should assume a You-Hough is trying to use this attack at all times. | ||
Properties: Unblockable Overhead Attack (Hammer/Naginata) | ||
Charge (Silver You-Hough) | ||
An attack used only by silver You-Houghs. A You-Hough makes a hovering sound as it flies to your elevation, after which it charges forward with a whirring blade sound and a blue glow. You-Houghs veer to their left at the start of this attack, giving it a tendency to miss at close range. | ||
Properties: Blockable, No Stun | ||
Blade Charge (Red You-Hough) | ||
An attack used only by red You-Houghs. A You-Hough makes a hovering sound as it flies to your elevation, after which red blades extend from it before charging forward with a whirring blade sound and a red glow. You-Houghs veer to their left at the start of this attack, giving it a tendency to miss at close range. | ||

Strategy[]
In most situations, You-Houghs are trivial to fight. Their low health and lack of real defenses makes them easy to kill, however because they fly, You-Houghs are difficult to reach with most attacks. While Unite Gun can be useful for shooting them at range, the best weapon to use against You-Houghs is really Unite Sword: A max size Unite Sword's wide slashes are extremely effective at hitting a spread out group of You-Houghs, and in most Missions you can just use Wonderful Rising followed by a Wonderful Cyclone to destroy them all in seconds, while also earning enough Combo to earn a Pure Platinum in the process.
Alternatively, Unite Tombstone or a max size Unite Bomb can quickly destroy a group of You-Houghs, however you won't earn as much Combo as would from using Unite Sword's aforementioned Skills.
Whenever You-Houghs appear alongside other enemies, you should always focus on killing the You-Houghs first: this is because their Machine Gun attack is much more difficult to avoid than any other enemy's attack, and it makes blocking another enemy's attack extremely risky, as even a single stray bullet will break Unite Guts and stun your entire team. In fact, you should avoid using Unite Guts entirely whenever there are You-Houghs nearby, and rely on Unite Spring for defense until every You-Hough is gone.
Some of the most challenging encounters against You-Houghs include a Gedie Dough-Goo, whose spiked armor limits the use of Unite Sword. In Missions like this, not only are Unite Tombstone and Unite Bomb still effective weapons, but Unite Whip should be used to attack the You-Houghs, as it's the only Unite Morph that won't break if it accidentally hits the Gedie Dough-Goo.
Difficulty Changes[]
Apart from changes to their health and damage, You-Houghs behave identically across all five Difficulty levels.
Notably, Die-Rixens become able to spawn You-Houghs on Hard and 101% Hard.
UFO[]
Similar to Enemy Weapons, red You-Houghs can leave their UFO behind when killed. These UFOs can be entered when approached, and used to fly around horizontally in the air. While riding a UFO, jumping will make it hover up and down briefly, and using the Team Attack button will fire its machine gun. UFOs can be exited at any time by activating any Unite Morph, which destroys the UFO. Being attacked while riding a UFO will also destroy it.
UFOs also have a hidden usage limit, after which they self-destruct with no warning. This limit seems to vary depending on where the UFO is used.
UFOs are practically useless for combat, but in some situations the mobility offered from using a UFO is useful or required to reach hidden collectibles.
