- Wonder-Jungle is a direct reference to the character Tarzan, perhaps best known from Disney's 1999 animated adaptation Tarzan. Not only is Wonder-Jungle's real name based on the real name of Tarzan (which was also referenced by the name of the antagonist of the aforementioned film,) Wonder-Jungle was also originally named "Wonder-Tarzan", and his original name is still (barely) viewable in the Art section of the in-game Gallery, specifically in the collage of finalized whip weapon designs.
- Wonder-Jungle was almost definitely renamed from "Wonder-Tarzan" because, contrary to popular belief, the character Tarzan is not in the public domain.
- Wonder-Jungle's assignment to Salonga refers to Salonga National Park in Congo.
- Wonder-Jungle is one of the two Wonderful Ones with a snake for a weapon. The other is Wonder-Goddess.
- It is very tiny and difficult to see in-game, but Wonder-Jungle's Friendly Whip wears its own Wonder-Mask. This makes him one of two Wonderful Ones with a second Wonder-Mask as part of their design. The other is Wonder-Magician. In both cases, the second Wonder-Mask is worn by an animal in their company.
