- Wonder-Beetle may be a not-so-subtle continuation of PlatinumGames' tradition of hiding rhinoceros beetles in their games. The tradition, started by PlatinumGames animator/producer Eijiro Nishimura, is known to go as far back as his work on Resident Evil 4, and conspicuously hidden beetles have been found in Clover Studio's God Hand and several of Platinum's later titles, including Vanquish and all three Bayonetta games.
- Wonder-Beetle's tagline "Not the Car, Not the Band" refers to the Volkswagen Beetle and The Beatles.
