I could have sworn that the guidebook says...

Notoriyeahs are parasitic intelligence extractors used by the GEATHJERK Federation Supreme Armada. By physically attaching themselves to enemy antennas, Notoriyeahs can infiltrate and disrupt enemy communication networks, while also fending off attackers using powerful lasers and the ability to project an Anti-Unite Field that prevents the use of Unite Morphs.
First encountered as a trick boss in Operation 002-C, Notoriyeahs are special enemies that only appear a few times over the course of the game, and they're also encountered during The Wonderful 101's shoot 'em up missions.
GEATHJERK File[]
A large-scale electronic weapon designed to infiltrate enemy networks and hijack their systems.
After using its giant hooks to latch on to enemy information antennas, it then proceeds to infiltrate their system through the network.
In addition to signal cracking, it can also send out nano-bio wire to physically interfere with communication lines, cutting off power to a network and making it easier to invade. Should it be spotted, it can use its powerful lasers to fend off any enemies that try to impede its infiltration efforts.
Description[]
Notoriyeahs are large black flying saucers with twelve claw-like hooks around their underside, which are used to latch onto enemy structures. On top and at the center of a Notoriyeah is an antenna tower with a glowing spherical core at its base and three parabolic antennas at the top that constantly crackle with blue energy. The sphere is a Notoriyeah's only weak point, but it's also the point from which a Notoriyeah can fire lasers and project its Anti-Unite Field, making it difficult to attack.
Like most GEATHJERK forces, the colored details on a Notoriyeah indicates its health: changing from blue, to green, to orange, and finally to red as it's damaged until it's destroyed.
Although they're primarily designed for electronic warfare by physically taking over enemy networks, Notoriyeahs are also used for aerial combat. Notoriyeahs also seemingly have a multi-purpose design, as they're encountered as the main components of GEATH-Wahksay's shield generator.
Gameplay[]
Notoriyeahs are only fought twice during normal gameplay, first in Operation 002-C, and much later in the game when a group of three are fought during Operation 009-B.
Notoriyeahs do nothing to defend themselves at first, but after being reduced to roughly 3/4 health they'll start to continuously fire two lasers from their core for the remainder of the fight. At first, these lasers are at opposite sides of the core and spin around counter-clockwise, then they switch to clockwise at roughly 2/4 health, then finally they spin in opposite directions at roughly 1/4 health. The lasers spin faster at lower health, and significantly faster on higher Difficulty levels.
Counter-intuitively, a Notoriyeah's lasers cannot be reflected using Unite Sword, so you just have to avoid them for the entire fight by dodging or jumping over them. Because the middle of a Notoriyeah is a raised surface, the lasers will also safely pass over you if you just stand on its lower outer edges.
In addition to its lasers, a Notoriyeah may activate its anti-unite field any time its attacked, preventing you from using Unite Morphs. Unlike with Kuzzlers, there's no way to interrupt a Notoriyeah's anti-unite field ability.
Because you're trapped on top of the Notoriyeah during Operation 002-C, it's impossible to escape its anti-unite field. This makes Justice Missiles extremely effective in this fight, as they can be used to attack and quickly kill the Notoriyeah without having to worry about its anti-unite field at all.
On the contrary, the three Notoriyeahs encountered during Operation 009-B are fought in a large area, making it possible to stay outside their anti-unite field and to attack them with a ranged Unite Morph: the newly acquired Unify Boomerang is extremely effective for this.
Notoriyeahs are also encountered as enemies during Operation 006-B and 009-A's shoot 'em up Missions:
In 006-B, Notoriyeahs are stationary enemies that attack using a slow, short range pulse that slows you and forces you to shake free from its effects if it hits. This attack can be easily avoided using hit and run melee attacks or by just shooting the Notoriyeah from afar, making them a minor threat.
In 009-A, Notoriyeahs once again attack using a short range pulse, however, they now move, and they also appear in pairs. They can still be shot down relatively easily, but the final pair to appear actually approaches you from behind, forcing you to either manually aim the homing laser to destroy them from behind, or to carefully navigate around them until you can shoot them down.

Trivia[]
- The name Notoriyeah is derived from "乗っ取り屋 (nottori-ya)", the Japanese word for hijacker.[1]
- Notoriyeahs possess a speed stat of 0, implying immobility, despite clearly being capable of movement and even aerial combat. They share this trait with Tiekuus.
- During all enemy introduction cutscenes, various images of the enemy are displayed on screen as P-Star performs a scan on the enemy. While certain powerful characters and bosses display in-universe placeholder images stating "NO DATA" and "CAN NOT BE MEASURED" for dramatic effect, the Notoriyeah in Operation 002-C is unique in that its intro cutscene instead displays completely blurred and missing images, an easy to miss gag revolving around the enemy's interference and hijacking abilities.
