"Her creator gave up her life to build the shield, and we will give up ours to defend it!"
― Commander Nelson, Operation 004-A
Margarita is the code-name of Earth's Hyper Plasma Shield. Code-named in honor of its creator, Margarita is an impenetrable barrier designed to deadlock the entire GEATHJERK Armada, safeguarding Earth until the Shirogane Comet reaches firing range to wipe out the invaders.
Although impenetrable, Margarita requires vast amounts of energy and computational power to function, and thus the Hyper Plasma Shield depends on five Super Reactors (which are concealed within Goddess Statues located across the globe) for power, and the Mother Platinum top-secret nerve center to operate. Even then, the Super Reactors are only capable of powering Margarita for up to 24 hours.
Margarita is central to the plot of The Wonderful 101: although the shield stopped most of the GEATHJERK Armada, some GEATHJERK forces were able to reach Earth's surface before the barrier could be brought online. Seeking to take down Margarita, these GEATHJERK forces located and began focusing their attacks on each of the barrier's five Super Reactors. To ensure Margarita remains online until the Shirogane Comet can reach Earth, the defense of all five Super Reactors is the ultimate objective of many of the game's levels, eventually culminating in the defense of Mother Platinum as well.

Trivia[]
- The Goddess Statues are based on the New York Statue of Liberty.
- Although somewhat difficult to see in-game, each Goddess statue has a pendant of a different design and color. These designs can be found in the Artwork section of the in-game Gallery. The statues themselves may have also each been planned to be a different color, but in the final game they are all either a copper patina green or marble white.
- Each Goddess Statue is armed with a unique weapon: The Goddess of Blossoms carries a bow and arrow, the Goddess of Strato Port carries a boomerang, the Goddess of Neo Mu carries a trident, the Goddess of Lowrule carries some form of chain-sickle, and the Goddess of Kowrule carries a sword and shield.
