Kuzzlers are air support crafts used by the GEATHJERK Federation Supreme Armada. Unlike other Dough-Goo crafts, Kuzzlers are capable opponents with a variety of attacks, including the ability to project an Anti-Unite Field that prevents the use of Unite Morphs.
First encountered in Operation 006-A, Kuzzlers are support-oriented enemies that mainly try to hassle you by interfering with your ability to use Unite Morphs.
The GEATHJERK Officer Wanna is also known to use a custom Kuzzler as his personal transport.
GEATHJERK File[]
A small fighter craft designed primarily for particle attack-based air support.
Equipped with a dimensional displacement arm mount on its underside, it is able to adjust its firepower for mid- and close-range combat in the blink of an eye, making it incredibly adaptable in a wide variety of battle situations.
As if that weren't enough, it is also equipped with a phenomenally powerful ECP pulser that can cause any nearby electronic device to malfunction — even the Wonderful 100's magnetic spectrums required to Unite Morph.
Description[]
Kuzzlers are black, tube-shaped fighter crafts strongly resembling a pitcher plant, with a cockpit covered by a round lid on top of the craft and a bulbous base. The cockpit's lid is usually left open in combat, revealing the Dough-Goo piloting it inside. Like most GEATHJERK forces, the colored details on a Kuzzler (as well as its Dough-Goo pilot) indicates its health: changing from blue, to green, to orange, and finally to red as it's damaged until it's destroyed.
A Kuzzler's health is indicated by a health gauge on-screen whenever it's damaged.
The underside of a Kuzzler is capable of transforming into various configurations, including a Gatling gun, a radar dish capable of projecting an Anti-Unite Field, and a set of leg-like claws used to carry cannonballs, launch missiles, or scuttle around on the ground.
Gameplay[]
Like the Notoriyeah in Operation 002-C, Kuzzlers can project a red Anti-Unite Field around themselves that completely prevents the use of any Unite Morphs, including Unite Guts or Unite Spring. Kuzzlers activate their Anti-Unite Field any time they're attacked using Unite Morphs, but they can also activate it if other enemies are attacked nearby.
The Anti-Unite Field has a long duration, and Kuzzlers follow you while using it, making it impossible to avoid it by running out of range. The easiest way to stop a Kuzzler from using its Anti-Unite Field is to stun it using Climb Attacks, and they can be stunned in one hit by a fully charged Formation Charge.
An effective strategy for fighting Kuzzlers, especially when they're fought alongside other enemies, is to attack them using Wonder-Liner throws: stun them using Unite Guts or Team Attacks, and circle them using the Wonder-Liner to pick up and throw them for massive damage. You can also use the Wonder-Liner to throw the Cannonballs they leave behind from some attacks.
Damaging Kuzzlers like this avoids triggering their Anti-Unite Field, helping to ensure you can use Unite Guts or Unite Spring to defend against the attacks of other enemies, or if you're unable to stop the Anti-Unite Field, then Wonder-Liner throws become your only option for attacking enemies at all.
Because of their Anti-Unite Field, long battles with Kuzzlers tend to be one of the few situations where the Hero Sense Custom Block is actually useful, as being unable to use Unite Morphs will leave you with plenty of excess Unite Energy spend, and Hero Sense's automatic effect can save you when you're unable to use Unite Guts or Unite Spring to defend against an attack.
As for their other attacks, a Kuzzler's Machine Gun attack is easy to avoid by stepping to the sides. Their Cannonball Drop/Press attacks can be blocked using Unite Guts, stunning the Kuzzler, or you can avoid the attack and let them place the Cannonball on the ground, where it can then be thrown back at the Kuzzler or another enemy. If a Kuzzler's Cannonball is thrown using the Wonder-Liner it will always be thrown back at the Kuzzler that placed it, stunning it if it hits.
A Kuzzler's Homing Missile attack is considerably more dangerous, as it's a very fast projectile that can change course mid-flight, making it extremely difficult to avoid. The Homing Missile can be blocked using Unite Guts to damage and stun the Kuzzler, otherwise you should always try to dodge it using Unite Spring.
If you can't use Unite Morphs, such as if another Kuzzler is chasing you with its Anti-Unite Field, you'll have no choice but to run away from the Homing Missile. When this happens, try to run in a straight line away from it until it collides with the ground, and avoid turning, as the missile can very easily catch up to you if you turn.
Glitches[]
Kuzzlers are subject to glitch called the Ghost Kuzzler Missile glitch: if a Kuzzler is killed while it's preparing to use its Homing Missile attack, the missile doesn't properly despawn when the Kuzzler dies, and after a moment it will be launched like normal, but completely invisible aside from its trail.
This glitch can be prevented by avoiding killing a Kuzzler when its preparing to use the attack, however if you're aware of the glitch, you can just remember to block or dodge the missile like normal after the Kuzzler dies.

Trivia[]
- Kuzzlers are based on pitcher plants (or more specifically the genus Nepenthes,) a type of carnivorous plant that preys on insects and other small animals by using special tube-shaped leaves as pitfalls traps to capture prey.
- Their name is also derived from "靫蔓 (utsubokazura)", a Japanese word for pitcher plants.[1]
- Kuzzlers are one of the two enemy types in the game that can be encountered before their first "official" appearance (the other being Gehdowns): Kuzzlers first appear during the first Mission of Operation 006-A, however they can also be encountered much earlier in the game during Operation 004-B's Kahkoo-regah Secret Mission, or if you're to count Wanna's modified Kuzzler, even earlier during Operation 003-C.
- The Kuzzler model viewed in the Enemy Files section of the in-game Gallery is in an invalid configuration that never appears in-game, with both its Gatling cannon and its Anti-Unite Field radar dish deployed at the same time.
