Items in The Wonderful 101 come in many forms, such as consumables, upgrades, and a variety of collectibles.
Items are either used automatically when picked up, or saved for later in your inventory. With the exception of O-Parts, up to 99 of every item can be kept in the inventory, and any collected after reaching this cap will be discarded.
Consumable items in your inventory can be used at any time either from the ITEMS section of the pause menu, or during gameplay by selecting them using the D-Pad without having to pause the game.
Any collected item can also be viewed at any time in the FILES section of the pause menu.

Item Sources[]
Common items like O-Parts, Space Vegetables, Wonderful Batteries, and healing items can be obtained by destroying enemies and objects, or found simply out in the open ready to be picked up. Common items are often left out in the open to help lead the way through levels, and they may also sometimes be placed conspicuously as hints that a rarer item or a hidden area can be found nearby.
Consumable items, Custom Blocks, Unite Morphs, and Skills can be purchased from the Wonderful Mart using O-Parts as currency. Consumables can also be mixed using a combination of Space Vegetables from the MIXER section of the pause menu.
- See the Wonderful Mart and Mixer pages for more information.
Collectible items, however, can only be found hidden in levels by exploring and interacting with the environment using Unite Morphs or the Wonder-Liner in a variety of ways. Rare consumables are often also found this way. Recurring sources of hidden items include the following:
Currencies[]
O-Parts[]
O-Parts are the game's form of currency. They are most easily obtained by destroying enemies and breaking objects, but the primary method of collecting O-Parts is by performing big Combos in combat, as your total Combo score is converted into O-Parts every time a Combo expires. O-Parts are also awarded as a bonus every time a Mission or Level is completed: the better Medals or Awards you earn, the more O-Parts you receive as a reward. O-Parts are also awarded each time a Quick Time Event (QTE) is completed, in quantities ranging from as little as a few hundred or a few thousand, all the way up to hundreds of thousands depending on the QTE and how well it was completed.
O-Parts are used to purchase other Items, Unite Morphs, Custom Blocks, or Skills from the Wonderful Mart.
Wonderful Cards[]
Wonderful Cards are unique consumable items that can only be obtained by mixing 30 Space Peppers, 30 Space Carrots, and 30 Space Eggplants (the maximum that can be mixed at once.) A Wonderful Card can be spent instead of O-Parts to purchase items from the Wonderful Mart.
Although they are the most costly item to Mix, Wonderful Cards are extremely valuable for their ability to purchase any item from the Wonderful Mart: wisely spending them can easily save millions of O-Parts and get you expensive items much earlier than you could normally afford them.
Mixing Wonderful Cards should generally be prioritized over Mixing any other items until after you've use them to purchase the most important items available and/or you're able to purchase any remaining items using O-Parts.
Space Vegetables[]
Space Peppers, Space Carrots, and Space Eggplants are crafting items that can be found in almost every level of the game, usually either placed out in the open or by breaking objects. Space Vegetables can be used in the MIXER section of the pause menu to create various consumable items depending on the combination of Space Vegetables used.

Restoration Items[]
Wonderful Noodle Soups[]
Wonderful Noodle Soups are the game's main healing items. There are actually 6 varieties of Wonderful Noodle Soup in total: Small, Normal (referred to in-game as simply "Wonderful Noodle Soup"), and Super, and each of these three portion sizes also come in To Go forms.
Wonderful Noodle Soups are used automatically when picked up to restore the Vitality Gauge by an amount depending on the item's portion: Small Soups restore a set amount equivalent to 1/16 of the largest Vitality Gauge, Normal Soups restore 1/8, and Super Soups restore 1/4. Wonderful Noodle Soups are almost exclusively found by breaking objects, and are more likely to appear at low health.
Wonderful Noodle Soups To Go are instead stored in your inventory when obtained, and can be used at any time during gameplay for the same effect as their dine-in equivalents. Soups To Go can be purchased from the Wonderful Mart, found hidden in levels, or mixed using either 10, 20, or 30 Space Peppers to receive different portion sizes.
Small Wonderful Noodle Soups To Go also replace most previously collected one-time items when replaying levels.
Wonderful Cakes[]
Wonderful Cakes are energy restoration items that can be used to restore the Unite Gauge. Like Wonderful Noodle Soups, there are actually 6 varieties of Wonderful Cake in total: Small, Normal (referred to in-game as simply "Wonderful Cake"), and Super, and each of these three portion sizes also come in To Go forms.
Wonderful Cakes are used automatically when picked up to restore units of the Unite Gauge depending on the item's portion: Small Cakes restore 1 unit, Normal Cakes restore 3 units, and Super Cakes restore 6 units. Wonderful Cakes are almost exclusively found by breaking objects.
Wonderful Cakes To Go are instead stored in your inventory when obtained, and can be used at any time during gameplay for the same effect as their dine-in equivalents. Cakes To Go can be purchased from the Wonderful Mart, found hidden in levels, or mixed using either 10, 20, or 30 Space Carrots to receive different portion sizes.
Small Wonderful Cakes To Go also replace most previously collected one-time items when replaying levels.
Wonderful Steaks[]
Wonderful Steaks are special healing items that fully restore your Vitality Gauge and also make you invincible for 20 seconds when used. They can be purchased from the Wonderful Mart, found well-hidden in some levels, or mixed using 30 Space Peppers and 10 Space Eggplants.
Using Wonderful Steaks will lower your result score at the end of a level.
Wonderful Parfaits[]
Wonderful Parfaits are special energy restoration items that fully restore your Unite Gauge and provide you with infinite Unite Energy for 20 seconds when used. They can be purchased from the Wonderful Mart, found well-hidden in some levels, or mixed using 20 Space Carrots and 10 Space Eggplants.
Using Wonderful Parfaits will lower your result score at the end of a level.
Wonderful Dummies[]
Wonderful Dummies are special items that basically function as an extra life. If ever your Vitality Gauge is fully depleted, instead of dying and getting a game over (and receiving the resultant score penalty at the end of a level,) a Wonderful Dummy from your inventory will be destroyed in place of the team leader and your Vitality Gauge will be fully restored, instantly putting you back in the game. Wonderful Dummies can be purchased from the Wonderful Mart, or found well-hidden in some levels.
Wonderful Dummies can only be used during regular gameplay, meaning they do not protect you from game overs during vehicle Missions or other special gameplay sequences.
Combat Items[]
Wonderful Batteries[]
Wonderful Batteries are special items that are found scattered throughout every non-boss level of the game. They can be collected to increase the Unite Gauge's capacity past its initial limit of 5 Units, up to a maximum of 10 Units.
Wonderful Batteries come in small, medium, and large sizes, equivalent to 1, 5, or 10 Batteries respectively. Collecting 20 Wonderful Batteries increases the Unite Gauge by one unit. This can be done up to five times, meaning that you can increase your Unite Gauge to a maximum of ten units if you can find 100 Wonderful Batteries within a level.
Wonderful Batteries also have the benefit of restoring some of the Unite Gauge when picked up, making it useful to keep picking them up even after the Unite Gauge's maximum capacity has already been reached. Small and medium Batteries restore 1 Unit, and the rarer large batteries restore 5 Units. Additionally, any time an extra Unit on the Unite Gauge is unlocked, the Unite Gauge is fully restored in the process.
Wonderful Batteries are discarded and the Unite Gauge is reset to 5 Units at the end of each level. Additionally, Wonderful Batteries aren't normally found in boss levels, where the Unite Gauge's capacity is instead instantly maximized through the use of Unlimited Form.
Fire Victory Torpedoes[]
Fire Victory Torpedoes are combat items that can be used to bombard the on-screen area with incendiary missiles, dealing damage to enemies and engulfing them in flames. They can be purchased from the Wonderful Mart, found well-hidden in some levels, or mixed using 10 Space Peppers, 30 Space Carrots, and 20 Space Eggplants.
For Combo purposes, Fire Victory Torpedoes are considered to be a Unite Gun attack.
Using Fire Victory Torpedoes will lower your result score at the end of a level.
Thunder Victory Torpedoes[]
Thunder Victory Torpedoes are combat items that can be used to bombard the on-screen area with electrical missiles, dealing damage to enemies and briefly freezing them in the same "hit-stop" effect as an electrified Unite Sword. They can be purchased from the Wonderful Mart, found well-hidden in some levels, or mixed using 30 Space Peppers, 10 Space Carrots, and 20 Space Eggplants.
For Combo purposes, Thunder Victory Torpedoes are considered to be a Unite Gun attack.
Using Thunder Victory Torpedoes will lower your result score at the end of a level.
Shocking Reds[]
Shocking Reds are combat items that can be used to instantly stun all enemies, as if their attacks had just been blocked using Unite Guts. They can be purchased from the Wonderful Mart, found well-hidden in some levels, or mixed using 10 Space Peppers, 10 Space Carrots, and Space 10 Eggplants.
Shocking reds have no effect on enemies that cannot be stunned normally, such as bosses, Nyerks, or a Gedie Dough-Goo that still possesses armor.
Using Shocking Reds will lower your result score at the end of a level.
Justice Missiles[]
Justice Missiles are combat items that can be used to bombard a targeted area with missiles, dealing damage to enemies. Justice Missiles are unique in that they can only be obtained by rescuing citizens after reaching the maximum team size within a level: For every 10 citizens rescued, a Justice Missile is created.
Another unique feature is that Justice Missiles are manually aimed: after selecting your Justice Missiles, a reticle appears on screen that is controlled using the right analog stick, and they can then be fired one by one using the right shoulder button. When you're finished, Justice Missiles can be "put away" using the left shoulder button. You can also continue to fight and evade attacks while firing Justice Missiles, however, the Wonder-Liner cannot be used and the camera cannot be adjusted as long as Justice Missiles are readied.
For Combo purposes, Justice Missiles are considered to be a Unite Gun attack.
Although Justice Missiles can be somewhat clumsy to aim, they're useful for more quickly completing fights against enemies that are hard to reach with normal attacks, such as Notoriyeahs, Die-Rixens, and some Bosses. Justice Missiles do not incur a score penalty like the other combat support items.
GEATH-Remotes[]
GEATH-Remotes are unique combat items that instantly recruit all nearby Dough-Goos in the area when picked up. In the Remastered Version of the game only, they also recruit Chew Dough-Goos.
GEATH-Remotes can only be found in certain missions that expect or require enemies to be recruited for completion.

Trivia[]
- O-Parts are named after out-of-place artifacts, which are sometimes abbreviated as "OOPArts".
- Platinum Coins have the distinction of being one of the only completely optional systems in The Wonderful 101: Although they are useful to obtain, there are no Platinum Coin-exclusive rewards such as a Bottle-Cap, nor does the game permanently track the collection of Platinum Coins themselves in any way other than creating an entry for them in the item list after one is collected for the first time.
- The Unite Gauge and Wonderful Battery systems function identically to the VFX Gauge and V-Film systems from Viewtiful Joe.
- Shocking Reds are named after the Shocking Pink bomb items from Viewtiful Joe.
- Bubble Memory Cartridges resemble Nintendo Famicom game cartridges. In particular, the switch at the front of a Bubble Memory Cartridge is reminiscent of the power-on indicator present on Irem cartridges.
- Likewise, the Treasure Sensor resembles the bare circuit board of a game cartridge, without the plastic shell.
- Unused icons and an unused voice line that can still be found in the game files suggest that GEATH-Remotes were originally a consumable item kept in the inventory, and that they could have been purchased from the Wonderful Mart.
