Gehdowns are tank-like vehicles used by the GEATHJERK Federation Supreme Armada. As the ultimate model of Hoedown, Gehdowns are upgraded with shields coated in supermagnetic spikes, enhancing their melee abilities and rendering them impervious to almost any frontal attack, and their cannons are now capable of indirect fire, allowing them to drop explosive spike balls on top of their targets from anywhere.
First encountered in Operation 002-B, Gehdowns are a rare enemy type that can only be defeated by using Unite Whip to remove their spikes.
Raydowns are related to several other tank-like enemies:
Hoedown: the base model only capable of standard cannonball shots.
Raydown: a model capable of firing lasers.
Dough-Kun: a hovering model that sacrifices armor for mobility.
GEATHJERK File[]
An upgraded Hoedown unit designed to maximize its close-range combat capabilities.
Though Gehdown's basic stats closely resemble the Hoedown's, its high-density GEATH-Titanium Shield, supermagnetic armored spikes, and turrets that fire supermagnetic armored shells add up to a machine that has been exquisitely fine-tuned for battle in close quarters.
Although these additional armaments make the Gehdown heavier, swapping the standard FA-type quantum engine for a more efficient MA-type allows it to operate with no reduction in maneuverability.
Description[]
Gehdowns are silver-white, tank-like vehicles consisting of a large rotating cannon mounted on top of a four-wheeled car, with a heavy shield in front of their cannon that can split in half to make room for it to fire oversized projectiles. Gehdowns are almost identical to Hoedowns in appearance, however, their shields are coated in holographic blue spikes that completely repel almost anything that comes in contact with them, and the top of their cannon and both sides of the back of their car section are decorated with metal spikes.
Using Unite Whip, a Gehdown's shield can be torn off piece by piece until it's completely exposed, making it vulnerable to normal attacks. Aside from the state of their shield, the color of the details on a Gehdown indicates its actual health: changing from blue, to green, to orange, and finally to red as it's damaged until it's destroyed.
A Gehdown's health is indicated by a health gauge on-screen whenever it's damaged.
Though not obvious at a glance, the Gehdown's car section has a distinct front and back, which can be easily told apart by the spikes at their back. This is important to note, because the direction the car is facing in is always the direction a Gehdown moves toward when using its Dash Attack, rather than the direction the cannon is aiming in.

In most situations, Gehdowns are actually trivial to fight. Unlike Hoedowns or Raydowns, a Gehdown's shield can be removed simply by attacking them with Unite Whip at any time. A Size 10 or 20 Unite Whip will only remove one shield half at a time, but a Size 50 or bigger will remove the entire shield at once. Losing their shield stuns them, leaving them opened to being finished off.
Gehdowns possess the same attacks as Hoedowns, with the only new addition being the Spike Ball Drop. Their Cannonball Shot attack is still blockable (albeit it does nothing to their shields), and they never fire spike balls in this way. On the other hand, due to their spikes, their Dash Attack is now unblockable until their shield is removed.
However, if they're left alive, Gehdowns can very easily make a fight go out of control due to their ability to cover a Mission area with hazardous Spike Balls, use unblockable Dash Attacks, and knock out your team members on contact, all of which might make it impossible to even draw a Unite Whip at all.
When fighting multiple Gehdowns, focus on removing all of their shields first, as it's better to remove their ability to deal damage on contact as quickly as possible than it is to kill them one by one. When a Gehdown uses the Spike Ball Drop attack, don't let yourself get too distracted trying to avoid it, as all you have to do to avoid it is keep moving. Destroy Spike Balls when you come across them so they don't get in the way later.
Because their Cannonball Shot and Spike Ball Drop attacks have the same audio cue, don't bother using Unite Guts unless you see the attack animation as well. If you don't know where the attack is coming from, just use Unite Spring.
The Hero Time Custom Block is extremely effective against Gehdowns, because it can be used to trigger a time stop at any time simply by dodging near them while they still possess their shield.

GEATHJERK File No.016[]
- Location: Operation 004-A
The Gehdown GEATHJERK File can be found inside the Wonderful Toilet located after Mission 001.
Enemy Weapon[]
When killed using the correct Unite Morph, a Gehdown will drop its Enemy Weapon: The Gehdown Cannon.
Gehdown Cannons are 10 charge Enemy Weapons that fire cannonballs in a straight line that explode on impact. Due to their infinite range, high damage, high rate of fire, and ability to stunlock enemies that are affected by explosions, Gehdown Cannons are among the most powerful Enemy Weapons, and they should be obtained and used whenever possible.
Gehdown Cannons are functionally identical to Hoedown Cannons.

Trivia[]
- The name Gehdown is derived from "棘 (toge)", the Japanese word for thorn, and "弾 (dan)", the Japanese word for bullet or projectile. [1]
- Gehdowns are one of the two enemy types in the game that can be encountered before their first "official" appearance (the other being Kuzzlers): Gehdowns first appear in Mission 009 of Operation 002-B, the level's final Mission, however they can also be found earlier within the same level in Operation 002-B's Kahkoo-regah (Secret Mission 005.)
- Unlike the other tank enemies, the Gehdown model viewed in the Enemy Files section of the in-game Gallery is missing its shield.
