As Prince Vorkken's most trusted and powerful soldier, Chewgi not only fights for his master with unflinching loyalty, he also tends to his every whim as a personal servant.

After a teaser appearance in the Prologue, Chewgi makes his first official appearance in Operation 002-A, before the first of many battles against the Guyzoch Space Pirates.
After a number of recurring battles, Chewgi temporarily joins forces with The Wonderful Ones, lending his unique Unify Naginata IconUnify Naginata ability to the team.
Chewgi is also permanently unlockable as a Secret Character.

GEATHJERK File[]

A stalwart soldier of Prince Vorkken's Guyzoch Space Pirates. As commanding first officer, Chewgi is always beside Vorkken as his right hand. He is the most powerful member of the pirates in terms of brute force, but is of a quiet nature and rarely speaks. Chewgi firmly believes that even the battlefield is a place for proper manners - respecting the power of opponents and always fighting fairly.

While his body blows pack plenty of power alone, Chewgi is also skilled in a variety of attacks using his prized dual naginata, which not only features sharp blades but can be spun at an amazing speed to create an impenetrable barrier that deflects any incoming attack.

Description[]

Appearance[]

Chewgi Background

Chewgi is a brawny human-like alien from the planet Boosheedoh. As a member of Guyzoch, Chewgi wears a Vanzen Suit at all times; a black and silver powered exoskeleton similar to a CENTINEL-Suit with a red V emblem across the chest, arm guards resembling blasters, and a red dome helmet with a mask covering the front and a mouthpiece resembling a respirator.
Like Prince Vorkken, Chewgi's suit is modified to distinguish himself from the rest of the crew: His version of the suit includes the addition of long skirt armor, larger shoulder pads, and a modified crest/antenna on his helmet creating the illusion of a chonmage hairstyle.
Similar to the Wonderful Ones' Unlimited Form, Chewgi can activate Ganjo Form to increase his suit's power. In this form, a cape is released from the back of the suit and fang-like plates cover his helmet's mouthpiece.
When knocked out, Chewgi is reduced to his red helmet and full body white under suit.

Apart from Vorkken, Chewgi is the only member of Guyzoch with a unique weapon: a folding dual naginata named Senpookey with the signature ability to be spun at high speeds like a fan blade, which can simultaneously deal damage and deflect most forms of attacks.

While Chewgi's face is never seen, he is shown to have lavender skin once his suit is damaged, and in a vignette showing his appearance on his home planet, he appeared to have a top knot hairstyle and wore mail armor resembling that of a Japanese samurai, which he still seems to wear underneath his suit.

Personality and traits[]

At first, Chewgi appears to be little more than an obedient servant to Prince Vorkken: accompanying him at all times, supporting him in combat, and rarely speaking without permission (usually only in attempt to cut his long winded expositions short).

It's not until Prince Vorkken's defeat and the resulting liberation of the Guyzoch that the true nature of Chewgi's partnership with Vorkken is revealed: like the rest of the Guyzoch, Vorkken had forced his unwavering loyalty by threatening him with the destruction of his home world, making him nothing more than a slave. Chewgi wastes no time expressing his hatred of his former master once finally free to do so.

In reality, Chewgi is an honorable warrior that prizes respect and fairness, a polar opposite to his master's tyranny. While Chewgi at first fought solely for the safety of his home world, following his liberation he developed a deep respect for the Wonderful Ones and sympathy for humanity's struggle against GEATHJERK, and lent his abilities (as well as the Guyzoch's numbers) to the team as an act of thanks.

Even though he hated Vorkken for his past actions, Chewgi spared him at the behest of the Wonderful Ones, and would eventually voluntarily join forces with him again so that together they could properly support the CENTINELS in their final battle against Jergingha. Following GEATHJERK's destruction, Chewgi joined the newly reformed Prince Vorkken in his quest to redeem himself across the galaxy.

Gameplay (Enemy)[]

Chewgi 4b cutscene attack 1

Chewgi appears as an enemy during the game's many Vorkken fights to assist his master in battle with various attacks. In addition to taking part of Vorkken's normal Unify Morphs, Chewgi is responsible for forming Vorkken's Enemy-Unite attacks, and in later battle's he'll also start attacking on his own using his signature Naginata Unify Morph.

Vorkken chewgi random naginata

Starting with the 005-A Vorkken battle, Chewgi can randomly form a Unify Naginata attack anywhere from within the Guyzoch any time Vorkken isn't vulnerable or busy attacking. Chewgi's Naginata is unpredictable and is almost always used with no warning, and more less serves to punish players for getting too close to Vorkken and his team. As an unpredictable, instantaneous attack, the only defense against Chewgi's Naginata is to keep your distance from the Guyzoch, and to start dodge-cancelling your all of your attacks as a precaution if Chewgi decides to form a Naginata as you're attacking Vorkken.

Gameplay (Playable)[]

Unify Naginata Icon

As part of the game's story, Chewgi becomes a temporary member of the team during Operations 007-A, 007-B, 009-B, and 009-C.

As the only Naginata user in the game, Chewgi enables the use of Unify Naginata: a unique defense oriented Unite Morph capable of repelling almost any attack that hits its spinning blade, including piercing drill attacks that would destroy Unite Guts.

Note that Chewgi is a temporary member only available during the aforementioned levels. To use Chewgi (and Unify Naginata) on every level, he must be unlocked as a Secret Wonderful One.
