Dough-Kuns are tank-like hovercrafts used by the GEATHJERK Federation Supreme Armada. A stripped-down model of Hoedown, Dough-Kuns sacrifice their shields to achieve higher mobility and a compact size, giving them the ability to infiltrate enclosed areas.
Dough-Kuns are unique enemies that are only encountered during a single Mission in Operation 003-A.
Dough-Kuns are related to several other tank-like enemies:
Hoedown: the base model only capable of standard cannonball shots.
Raydown: a model capable of firing lasers.
Gehdown: a model armored with spikes and capable of indirect fire.
GEATHJERK File[]
A Hoedown-based small mobile cannon that has been optimized for quick deployment.
Its Jerk-matter craft propulsion unit gives it secure footing on nearly any terrain, making it suitable for use in a variety of battle-situations. Stripped down for greater mobility, it cannot equip a GEATH-Titanium Shield, making it far more vulnerable than a standard Hoedown. However, lower weight also means more units can be transported together, and as a result they are used in all sorts of battles where quick deployments are a necessity.
Its GEATH-Gas launchers, originally designed as anti-infantry weaponry, are particularly effective in enclosed spaces.
Description[]
Dough-Kuns are violet-red, tank-like vehicles consisting of a large rotating cannon mounted on top of a hovercraft. Dough-Kuns are almost identical to Hoedowns in appearance, however they completely lack any form of shield for defense, and their wheels have been removed and replaced by a concealed propulsion unit that allows them to hover over the ground. Additionally, the tips of the antennas on a Dough-Kun's cannon glow bright red, making them easy to spot in low-visibility environments.
Like most GEATHJERK forces, the color of the glowing details on a Dough-Kun indicate its health: changing from blue, to green, to orange, and finally to red as it's damaged until it's destroyed.

Dough-Kuns are only encountered once in the game, during Operation 003-A's poison gas maze Subscreen Mission. The objective of the Mission is to destroy every Dough-Kun before time runs out, which is facilitated by observing the maze on the main screen so that you can find your position and navigate to each Dough-Kun, whose locations are marked by their glowing antennas. The Dough-Kuns appear in the same locations every time, making it possible to memorize their position to complete the Mission more quickly on replay.
Once they've been found, destroying the Dough-Kuns is easy, as they have virtually no defenses and are only capable of the Cannonball Shot attack, which they'll use any time you're in their line of sight. However, if you aren't checking the main screen regularly, another Dough-Kun may wander into line of sight and start attacking you when you aren't expecting it, so pay attention for the Cannonball Shot's audio cue and be prepared to dodge if you hear it.

Trivia[]
- The name Dough-Kun is derived from "毒 (doku)", the Japanese word for poison, and "燻 (kun)", the Japanese word for smoke, as in to smoke something out of hiding, in reference to their GEATH-Gas' effectiveness in enclosed spaces. [1]
