The Bottle-Cap Collection is an in-game achievement system in all versions of The Wonderful 101. Bottle-Caps are unlocked by fulfilling their requirements, which include progressing through the game's story, replaying the game on higher Difficulty levels, finding items and secrets, and completing various challenges.
A total of 101 Bottle-Caps can be unlocked in the game, and they can be viewed at any time in the Bottle-Cap Collection in the FILES section of the pause menu, or from the in-game Gallery once it's unlocked. To avoid spoilers, many Bottle-Caps don't show their full requirements until after they've been unlocked, and others are considered Secret Bottle-Caps, and don't provide any hints at all.
In addition to proving your progress in the game, Bottle-Caps also unlock Secret Wonderful Ones: every Secret Wonderful One has 6 to 8 Bottle-Caps associated to them, and they'll permanently join your team once all are unlocked. Progress towards unlocking Secret Characters can be viewed in the Bottle-Cap Collection after completing the game for the first time by switching to the Secrets tab.
In the PS4 and Steam versions of The Wonderful 101: Remastered, Bottle-Caps are also reused as PlayStation Network Trophies and Steam Achievements, respectively. A total of 51 Bottle-Caps are also Trophies, and every Bottle-Cap except for one is also a Steam Achievement.

In the PC version of The Wonderful 101: Remastered, after earning the final Bottle-Cap required to unlock a Secret Wonderful One, the game may crash after automatically opening the Secrets menu to display the character you've just unlocked. If this crash is consistently happening in your game, you can prevent it by quickly opening and closing the pause menu after the Bottle-Cap is earned but before the Secrets menu is automatically opened: delaying the Secrets menu from opening this way seems to prevent the crash.
